It looks like I’ve been missing from the blog for a while. I definitely need to do better, and a wedding post seems like a great way to start. Claire and Adam were married this month at Trinity United Methodist Church in Knoxville. It was a beautiful day with truly wonderful people, and I was very honored to be a part of it. <BR><BR>Claire’s makeup was just the right mix of sophistication and drama without being overdone. I also loved the orchids in her bouquet. Beautiful!</P> <P><img src="/photos/Weddings/Knoxville-TN/Brown-Peterson-Wedding-June-1-2013_19-4400.jpg" alt="Brown / Peterson Wedding June 1, 2013" title="Rothchild Conference Center" /><BR><BR><img src="/photos/Weddings/Knoxville-TN/Brown-Peterson-Wedding-June-1-2013_19-4401.jpg" alt="Brown / Peterson Wedding June 1, 2013" title="Rothchild Conference Center" /><BR><BR>Possibly the most anticipated moment of the day is when the groom sees his bride coming down the aisle. Whether it’s a look of awe, shock, or just complete joy, it’s always fun to see his reaction.</P> <P><img src="/photos/Weddings/Knoxville-TN/Brown-Peterson-Wedding-June-1-2013_19-4402.jpg" alt="Brown / Peterson Wedding June 1, 2013" title="Rothchild Conference Center" /><BR><BR>Adam’s mother performed their ceremony with a heartfelt service which included communion and a foot washing.<BR><BR><img src="/photos/Weddings/Knoxville-TN/Brown-Peterson-Wedding-June-1-2013_19-4403.jpg" alt="Brown / Peterson Wedding June 1, 2013" title="Rothchild Conference Center" /><BR><BR>I had never seen a foot washing done before, but I found it to be very romantic. It was a powerful symbol of their commitment and love – definitely something that more couples should consider including in their own ceremonies. There was even a lighthearted moment at the end while Claire struggled a bit to slide Adam’s sock back onto his still damp foot. </P> <P><img src="/photos/Weddings/Knoxville-TN/Brown-Peterson-Wedding-June-1-2013_19-4404.jpg" alt="Brown / Peterson Wedding June 1, 2013" title="Rothchild Conference Center" /><BR><BR><img src="/photos/Weddings/Knoxville-TN/Brown-Peterson-Wedding-June-1-2013_19-4405.jpg" alt="Brown / Peterson Wedding June 1, 2013" title="Rothchild Conference Center" /><BR><BR>After the service, the guests enjoyed a sit-down dinner and dancing at <A href="http://www.rothchildcatering.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Rothchild Conference Center</A>. I was so excited that we were able to go to <A href="http://www.darasgarden.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Dara’s Garden</A> for the photos because it is such an incredible venue with lots of cool photo opportunities. Amazingly, her bouquet had even survived the week fairly well and could be used in the photos.</P> <P><img src="/photos/Weddings/Knoxville-TN/Brown-Peterson-Wedding-June-1-2013_19-4407.jpg" alt="Brown / Peterson Wedding June 1, 2013" title="Rothchild Conference Center" /><BR><BR><img src="/photos/Weddings/Knoxville-TN/Brown-Peterson-Wedding-June-1-2013_19-4408.jpg" alt="Brown / Peterson Wedding June 1, 2013" title="Rothchild Conference Center" /><BR><BR><img src="/photos/Weddings/Knoxville-TN/Brown-Peterson-Wedding-June-1-2013_19-4409.jpg" alt="Brown / Peterson Wedding June 1, 2013" title="Rothchild Conference Center" /><BR><BR><img src="/photos/Weddings/Knoxville-TN/Brown-Peterson-Wedding-June-1-2013_19-4410.jpg" alt="Brown / Peterson Wedding June 1, 2013" title="Rothchild Conference Center" /><BR><BR><img src="/photos/Weddings/Knoxville-TN/Brown-Peterson-Wedding-June-1-2013_19-4411.jpg" alt="Brown / Peterson Wedding June 1, 2013" title="Rothchild Conference Center" /></IMG></P>Weddings/blog/Weddings/Knoxville-TN/Brown-Peterson-Wedding-June-1-2013#commentstart/blog/Weddings/Knoxville-TN/Brown-Peterson-Wedding-June-1-2013Sun, 23 Jun 2013 15:06:16 GMTHappy Birthday Hayden and Ben/blog/Portraits/Knoxville-TN/Happy-Birthday-Hayden-and-Ben<P>Hayden, Ben, and I all had birthdays recently so we were able to celebrate for several weeks in a row. The best part was that I only had to make one giant cupcake. Hayden loved lighting the candles and singing Happy Birthday repeatedly, but he isn't a fan of getting messy so no cake smashing for him. When it was Ben's turn, he happily sqished icing in his hands before dumping the whole thing onto the ground and diving in. <BR><BR>As usual, they wouldn't cooperate for photos together. This little miracle was born at 24 weeks gestation and weighed just 1lb 6 oz. Even though her due date was within a few days of the session, Harper was 3.5 months old already when we were able to do the photos. At about 5.5lb, she was still much smaller than most newborns. <BR><BR><img src="/photos/Portraits/Knoxville-TN/Powell_19-4383.jpg" alt="Celebrating a Little Miracle" title="Powell" /><BR><BR><img src="/photos/Portraits/Knoxville-TN/Powell_19-4384.jpg" alt="Celebrating a Little Miracle" title="Powell" /><BR><BR><img src="/photos/Portraits/Knoxville-TN/Powell_19-4385.jpg" alt="Celebrating a Little Miracle" title="Powell" /><BR><BR><img src="/photos/Portraits/Knoxville-TN/Powell_19-4386.jpg" alt="Celebrating a Little Miracle" title="Powell" /><BR><BR><img src="/photos/Portraits/Knoxville-TN/Powell_19-4387.jpg" alt="Celebrating a Little Miracle" title="Powell" /><BR><BR><img src="/photos/Portraits/Knoxville-TN/Powell_19-4388.jpg" alt="Celebrating a Little Miracle" title="Powell" /><BR><BR><img src="/photos/Portraits/Knoxville-TN/Powell_19-4389.jpg" alt="Celebrating a Little Miracle" title="Powell" /><BR><BR><img src="/photos/Portraits/Knoxville-TN/Powell_19-4390.jpg" alt="Celebrating a Little Miracle" title="Powell" /><BR><BR><img src="/photos/Portraits/Knoxville-TN/Powell_19-4391.jpg" alt="Celebrating a Little Miracle" title="Powell" /><BR><BR>Harper has wonderful parents and an amazing big sister who just adores her. Instead, I took a photograph of each of them on different days and then pieced the pictures together to make this one. Although she was actually due today, little Harper Grace was born at 24 weeks gestation&nbsp;back in April. She weighed just 1lb 6oz at birth and was 11" long. <BR><BR>At long last, she is now home with her adoring&nbsp;parents Crystal and Matt and big sister Billie,&nbsp;and she weighs a whopping 5lb 4oz. She is the tiniest little princess but already has a lot of personality and spunk. She is amazingly strong for her size, and she is strong-willed with definite preferences. She is only truly happy and peaceful when being held, but there's no shortage of&nbsp;eager arms willing to do just that. I'm sure that she has been able to not only survive but thrive because of her family's love and faith and all of the compassionate support and prayer&nbsp;that they receive from the many who know and love them. They are an amazing family that I have been priveleged to know since I first photographed their wedding back in 2007, and I am overjoyed for them to have this beautiful, little addition. <BR><BR>I normally like to photograph&nbsp;babies within ten days of birth, but that obviously wasn't possible with Harper. Although she is still smaller than most newborns, she was much more challenging to work with. She really made us work for the photos that we got, but that makes it even more rewarding.<BR><BR>Baby smiles are so sweet, but capturing them takes a bit of luck and a lot of patience. I actually had to edit two&nbsp;shots together to get each of the finished photographs below, but I love the results.<BR><BR><img src="/photos/Portraits/Knoxville-TN/Powell_19-4336.jpg" alt="Little Miss Harper Grace" title="Powell" /><BR><BR><img src="/photos/Portraits/Knoxville-TN/Powell_19-4337.jpg" alt="Little Miss Harper Grace" title="Powell" />Portraits/blog/Portraits/Knoxville-TN/Little-Miss-Harper-Grace#commentstart/blog/Portraits/Knoxville-TN/Little-Miss-Harper-GraceMon, 08 Aug 2011 14:46:53 GMTMy Newest Niece/blog/Portraits/Sweden/My-Newest-NieceCongratulations to Sara and Dan on their beautiful, little girl who finally&nbsp;made her appearance yesterday&nbsp;after 39 hours of labor!
