In preparation for the Oscars tomorrow, I wanted to see one of the Best Picture nominees at the theater today. Unfortunately, Marcus has a cold and didn't feel like going out so we stayed in and watched An Inconvenient Truth instead. It's one of those movies that I've wanted to see and knew I eventually would, but I was afraid it would be a little boring. I agreed to watch ten minutes of it if we could then turn it off and watch something else. Ten minutes in, I didn't want to turn it off. Everyone should see this movie.

It isn't as entertaining as March of the Penguins, and Al Gore isn't as animated as Michael Moore. Still, in my opinion, this is the most important documentary film. Climate change isn't a political issue, it's a human issue. It's much easier to just go on with our day-to-day lives and ignore the problem, but the very least we can do is understand and acknowledge what's happening.

YAY! It's FRIDAY! During the wedding season, I get excited on Fridays because it usually means I'll be shooting a wedding the next day. In the off season, like now, I'm excited because it means that I actually get the whole weekend off. My husband Marcus works Monday through Friday so it's really nice when we actually get to spend two days in a row together. This weekend I'm actually going to try to avoid working. I am probably going to have a meeting or two, but for the most part I'm going to spend the weekend with my family.

In celebration of Friday, here are some photos from a trip that Marcus and I took to Zion, Bryce Canyon, & Valley of Fire last year. I went to Las Vegas for a photography convention/tradeshow. We just decided to go a few days early and take a little trip together. I was actually born in Utah so it's nice to explore that part of the country.

The full slideshow can be downloaded and viewed here if you have a fast connection and computer.

Warning!! This show is created for use on a PC running Windows. Unfortunately, if you have a Mac then you will not be able to run the show, and it may even crash your system.

Mondays aren't usually very exciting so I thought I'd dig up some photos to share. These were taken a few years ago on a trip to Paris. If you've never been, you owe it to yourself to find a way. There's so much to do and see. It's definitely one of my favorite places on Earth.

I met Lisa in the 8th grade and consider her my oldest and dearest friend even though we don't see each other as often as we should. Her birthday was in January, but we finally got together Friday night to celebrate it with dinner at the Italian restaurant Bravo.  Justin (who I think looks a lot like Lance Armstrong) and Lisa are getting married this April at Heritage Park in Townsend, and I have the honor of photographing their big day. We shot their engagement photos in October, and this is image that they used on their 2006 Christmas card. We enjoyed seeing you two and can't wait until April!
