Meghan and Charles had an afternoon ceremony followed by a cake and punch reception at Luminary United Methodist Church in Ten Mile. Their photography coverage was short, but we managed to make it out to Chuck's parents' home on the lake for a few photos afterward. I love the pick-up skirt on Meghan's gold dress. She had a beautiful veil to match, but she ditched it after the ceremony to show off her pearl tiara.

Jessica and Damien were married at Greater Warner Tabernacle AME Zion Church (Knoxville's oldest African-American congregation) with a reception at Holston Hills Country Club. Jessica was a beautiful bride, and Damien looked handsome in his white tux. The girls wore brown dresses. Susan at Cakes of Elegance made a delicious cake as usual, and DJ Kurious (djkurious@yahoo.com) kept everyone dancing and having fun. At one point, Damien and his fraternity brothers circled around to sing a heart-felt acapella serenade for Jessica. This group knows how to let loose and celebrate!

Yesterday I photographed a session on the Ocoee River with Stephanie. We couldn't be very daring because we wanted to keep the dress clean, but hopefully I'll get a chance to do a couple session with them once they return from their tropical, destination wedding. She has an elegant one shoulder gown and a beautiful long veil. I love veils!

My friends Tiffany and Randy just celebrated their third anniversary. The couple had a destination wedding in Gatlinburg. The ceremony was held at one of the many little wedding chapels in the area, and the reception was at a mountain cabin that they had rented for the weekend. Before getting ready for the ceremony, Tiffany presented her children with wedding day gifts. Her son received a pocket watch, and the girls were given rings to commemorate the day. They're a great family, and I've been fortunate enough to keep in touch with them even though they live in Nashville. Last fall they all came to Knoxville so that I could do a few family photos and senior photos with Rachel.

Tiffany's son Austin was so proud to walk his mother down the aisle.

This particular venue ushered all of the guests into a closed room after the ceremony so that we couldn't disrupt their photos with the couple. I snapped one through the window anyway.

In 2005, I photographed the garden ceremony of Elizabeth and Robert at Riverwood Mansion in Nashville.

Riverwood has beautiful gardens and a few different locations for outdoor ceremonies. Elizabeth's father is deceased so her brother walked her down the aisle.

It is surprisingly common for someone to drop one of the rings during the ceremony. Robert dropped Elizabeth's ring, but then she mistakenly put his ring on the wrong hand.

I'm not a big fan of long lists of formal group photos, but I usually do a photo of the couple with their immediate families and one with their extended families. The extended family photo doesn't include every possible relative though. It includes parents, grandparents, siblings, and the siblings' spouses and children. Elizabeth has a lot of siblings which made for a large group!
