My friends Tiffany and Randy just celebrated their third anniversary. The couple had a destination wedding in Gatlinburg. The ceremony was held at one of the many little wedding chapels in the area, and the reception was at a mountain cabin that they had rented for the weekend. Before getting ready for the ceremony, Tiffany presented her children with wedding day gifts. Her son received a pocket watch, and the girls were given rings to commemorate the day. They're a great family, and I've been fortunate enough to keep in touch with them even though they live in Nashville. Last fall they all came to Knoxville so that I could do a few family photos and senior photos with Rachel.

Tiffany's son Austin was so proud to walk his mother down the aisle.

This particular venue ushered all of the guests into a closed room after the ceremony so that we couldn't disrupt their photos with the couple. I snapped one through the window anyway.

Last year I photographed the wedding of Sandra and Ryan at St Mary's Catholic Church in Oak Ridge. After the ceremony and formal group photos, I spent some time at the church with the couple alone and then drove to the reception at Rothchild Catering and Conference Center in Knoxville where the guests enjoyed a live band and sit-down dinner.

My husband Marcus and Jim were coworkers. When he heard that Jim and his fiancé Colleen were looking for a wedding venue in Maryville, Marcus recommended that they look at Butterfly Gap Retreat. They did and apparently loved it as much as we do since they were married on the BGR peninsula last Sunday. They also used All Occasion Catering and Mulberries Flowers, two excellent vendors.

It was a beautiful day! I thought this was a really great idea, especially for an outdoor wedding... The couple had the ceremony programs hanging in little folders on the end of each aisle.

It was very sunny for their afternoon ceremony so we did a few photos and then later, once the sun was lower, did a few more outside the reception.

James and Colleen had a special choreographed waltz prepared for their first dance. It was really beautiful.

Knoxville finally had some rain and overcast skies the past week, but the weather was great for Charles & Meghan's engagement session Wednesday. We had fun wandering around the Old City, and it was nice to get to know them before their wedding later this month.

I'm looking forward to seeing you two again soon!

This is a very busy month so I'm a little behind on blog posts. Just bear with me, and I'll get everything caught up eventually!

Debbi and Michael were one of the first couples that I worked with. The wedding ceremony was very challenging since the sanctuary was almost pitch black and flash wasn't allowed, but I only have good memories from the day. Debbi was really sweet, and they were so happy to finally be marrying each other. My work has improved a lot since then, but everyone starts somewhere. I'm glad that they took a chance with a newer photographer and let me be a part of their special day.
