Clay and Emily's Couple Session Photographs

Cades Cove, The Great Smoky Mountains

Knoxville has gotten a little rain this week, but it didn't stop me from photographing Emily and Clay's wedding portraits in Cades Cove yesterday. Although the forecast called for showers all day, it cleared up just long enough for our photo shoot. The wet ground wasn't helpful, but the rain did keep away the crowds and give us some nicely overcast skies. Here are a few favorites.

WOW! Sorry if I was hard to work with yesterday. I just wanted everything to be perfect for Emily and you definantly made that happen. I can't wait to see the rest.

My sorority's alumni group adopts a family with the Murfreesboro Domestic Violence shelter each year at Christmas. Being a group of girls, we are usually given a family with little girls to make their wishes come true, pamper and spoil. This year, however, we were given a mother and her two teenage boys who had lived at the shelter for some time. Girls grumbled and didn't know what to do for the boys. However, another exec member and I, after fulfilling the boys' wishlists, talked with them about some things that their mom might like for Christmas that we could do. After getting some really great suggestions, we decided to buy her a really nice piece of jewelry.....A diamond journey pendant...something her boys said she had always admired but knew she would never receive. I can't wait for her to open it because Wendy and I were filled with such joy and emotion when we picked it out. Instead of little girls to spoil, we got a big girl; one who has suffered greatly and who is doing everything she can to keep her family together and happy! What courage! A touching Christmas tidbit that I experienced this week! I'll keep you posted!
